I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and received my undergraduate and advanced professional degrees from Ohio State, but my career has taken me to various positions in New Jersey, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Arizona, and back to Ohio. My employment and professional activities required extensive travel covering most of the U.S. and some locations in Canada. I have also traveled extensively in Europe, the Hawaiian Islands, and have visited Mexico. I am currently living in Powell, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus) with my wife, Julia.
Julia is a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba and now is a dual U.S.-Canadian citizen. Julia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Accounting and Financial Management and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She has been employed primarily in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries in the United States and Canada throughout her career. Julia is currently a Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement Consultant in Financial Services at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
I hold an Amateur Extra Class License (20 wpm CW). I previously participated in USAF MARS and held a First Class Radiotelephone License. In addition to amateur radio, I have a strong interest in analog filter design (active and passive), digital filter design, and digital circuit design using FPGAs and microcontrollers.
When I am not involved with amateur radio, electronic design, or being a news habitue, I enjoy Ohio State football, activities with Julia, and raising our two cats, Zoe and Olive.
