The QRP Labs QDX Digital Transceiver (kit) is capable of operation on the 80 meter, 60 meter, 40 meter, 30 meter, and 20 meter bands using single-tone digital modes such as FT8. The power output of the QDX is 4-5 watts with a 12 volt supply depending upon the band. I currently power the QDX either from a lab power supply or a 12 volt power bank (battery). The QDX draws approximately 110 mA in receive and approximately 800 mA in transmit. The transceiver is interfaced to a computer via USB and has a built-in sound card as well as CAT control. The QDX operates seamlessly with WSJT-X, JTDX, and JS8Call. The kit takes approximately one day to complete and features a significant number of surface-mount components (SMD) pre-installed to speed-up construction.
